IRELAND’S NEWEST Oscar winner Benjamin Cleary has revealed that he’ll be storing his award in the safest place possible – his parents’ house in Dublin.
Cleary won Best Live Action Short last night for his film Stutterer, the tale of a man held back by a debilitating speech impediment.
Stutterer was his first film, and cost £5,000 to make – to put that into perspective, Buzzfeed reports that the cost of most Oscar-worthy short films starts at £20,000.

Speaking to RTÉ’s Caitriona Perry on Morning Ireland earlier today, Cleary admitted that hearing the name of the film being called out was “a bit of a special moment”.
He said they were dying of nerves waiting for their category to come up:
And as for where hes going to put it?
No better place for it. You can watch Stutterer here on the RTÉ Player.
